Plantation Teak
Sustainably harvested from Indonesian plantations, plantation teak is valued for its strength, durability and natural resilience in outdoor environments. Rich in natural oils, teak resists moisture and pests while maintaining structural integrity across changing weather conditions. Its tone varies subtly depending on the soil and growing region, creating gentle differences in warmth and depth from piece to piece. Over time, untreated teak will develop a soft silvery-grey patina. For those who prefer to maintain its original hue, natural teak oil or wax can be applied, noting that this will subtly deepen the colour and alter the surface appearance. With its inherent density and high oil content, plantation teak is well-suited to full outdoor use, weathering gracefully while remaining enduring and substantial.
Sustainably Harvested Teak Branches
Our teak branch pieces are crafted from plantation offcuts and younger trunks that would otherwise be overlooked during traditional harvesting. In plantation environments, trees are planted closely together. Faster-growing trunks are retained, while slower-growing trees are selectively removed to create space. These branches and younger sections contain more sapwood than heartwood, resulting in a lighter tone and softer composition. Because sapwood absorbs more ambient moisture, we recommend applying a surface protector when using teak branch products outdoors. With considered care, these pieces offer an organic and sculptural expression of teak in its more natural form.
Teak Roots
Teak roots are typically regarded as by-products in conventional timber harvesting. Dense with natural oils and characterised by deeper grain patterns, teak roots carry an inherently rich texture and tonal variation. Each piece formed from root material is entirely unique, shaped by the natural growth of the tree rather than machinery. The result is furniture that feels grounded, sculptural and unrepeatable, celebrating the imperfect beauty of organic form.
Reclaimed Aged Teak Finishing
Following harvest, selected teak timbers are soaked in organic mud to absorb natural minerals and colour sediments before kiln drying. This process gently accelerates the appearance of aged grain, creating a weathered grey finish reminiscent of timber that has softened under years of sun and sea air. The result is a refined, time-worn aesthetic without compromising structural integrity.
Reclaimed Teak
Reclaimed teak carries history within its grain. Salvaged from old Javanese buildings, decommissioned fishing boats and antique agricultural tools, each timber beam is hand-selected and reworked into furniture with renewed purpose. Years of exposure to the elements strengthen the timber while leaving behind tonal variation, markings and natural irregularities. These are preserved rather than removed. Within our collections, reclaimed teak appears in both refined and rustic expressions, distinguished by age, surface texture and oil content. Each piece tells a quiet story of material continuity and considered craftsmanship.
